How to make a Thanksgiving Banner:
Step 1 – Cut Out the Banner Elements
Download the cut files and cut out the following:
3 Sheets of Kraft Brown with 2 Boxes Cut from Each
Letters on Black
6 Sheets of Kraft Brown Feathers
2 Sheets Each of the Other Colors of Feathers
Step 2 – Prep the Banner Elements for the DIY
Punch 2 holes in the sides of the boxes, one on each side, just below the top edge.
Like this.
Punch one hole in the “top” of each feather. These do not have to be exact, as a matter of fact, if they are not perfect, the banner will look more organic and fun.
Step 3 – Add the Letters to Your Thanksgiving Banner
Hot glue the letters to the boxes, but do not mash them down hard. One of the more charming things about this banner, in my opinion, is that the lettering is not flush to the box, it’s raised a little and has a 3D effect. So just barely press the letters down on the boxes.
Step 4 – String the Thanksgiving Banner Together
Layout your banner on the table and set up how many feathers you want between each box.
Make a loop at the end of your twine, so it’s easier to thread and hang.
Start threading on the feathers and letters in order on the twine.
Add each letter of the banner in order.
Trim the twine to the length you want your banner to be.
Hang your Thanksgiving banner DIY and enjoy!
